I'm moulding these two weeks into one as they both were spent working on the same kinds of things. These weeks have been working on modelling and texturing for my Ground Stage. I'm making assets that make the important aspects of the levels geology. The backing walls of the bases and the lanes that the game would be played on.
In the beginning of these weeks I started buidling the very center of the level. This was an important point as with some feedback and work I managed to really hammer in the art style I want. I decided to use photoshop to texture instead of substance painter so I could focus far more this painterly style. I love the way it looks now. It looks cartoony and painted on which is exactly what I want, and with this high quality painting painting style I can work very low-poly and paint in all of the major details which is exactly what I want.

The most exciting part is that others looking at my work have told me that the projects style is reminding them of something from Blizzard or in League of Legends which is exactly what I want! Hearing that is amazing for me.

As assets are starting to come together I'm really starting to get into a position where I can see this project working. I'm really proud of the results and what I can create for this project.

These are the 'lanes' of the level. They are very important for the game as they are perhaps one of the most important parts of the level. They have to look interesting but not be too distracting so that a game can be played on it. I'm very proud with what they look like now. The two sides of the map are now very distinctly different which I love.

The blue side of the map is now almost entirely finished. Here's a highlight of my engraved and glowing murals on the walls. This is one part of the level I'm excited about, having lots of hints to the lore of this world in the background. This is one such thing.
So after these weeks I'm in a good place. The level is coming together but this stage is not quite done. I have one more week to get this stage done which I believe I can definately do. With my health concerns I've had to lose some days and some hours off most days which slows me down to working at about half efficiency. While I could be sad about this I'm glad. For one I'll always focus on my health rather than the project which is just sensible. I could push myself really hard but harm myself which I don't want to do. I'm not behind schedule I'm just much closer to it than I usually planned. I prefer to go far above my schedule and can push my stretch goals. I can still get the main parts of this project done in time, though I will have to cut some of my stretch goals now. If anything it just adds some dramatic tension to the project.
